Manuel Antonio Public Beach is only a few miles South of the port town of Quepos and is the main beach right before the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park.

Manuel Antonio Public Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Costa Rica, mainly because of its long beautiful sandy cove. It is only 100 miles by paved highway from the capital city of San Jose.

The fine textured, light coloured gold sand of the Manuel Antonio Public Beach stretches for about one-half mile. The year round daytime temperature varies from 85F to 90F, with a light constant breeze from the Pacific Ocean making for most enjoyable beach conditions.

Manuel Antonio Public Beach is all about fun. Along with the warm Pacific Ocean breeze are one-foot waves ideal for splashing about, boogie boarding, surfing, kayaking and sail boarding.

At Manuel Antonio Public Beach, you can wade out about 50 feet to get to the 4 foot water depth making it ideal for those who don’t swim. Closer to the shore where the water is less than 2 feet deep there is hardly any noticeable wave action so children can enjoy the ocean. However parents must still watch out for their children’s safety.

How to get to Manuel Antonio Beach and National Park from the Las Palmas Condos

Public Bus - Buses between Quepos and Manuel Antonio Park run every 30 minutes from 6 AM to 9 PM. The cost is about 105 colones. The Bus Stop is on the corner of the cross road by the steel bus shelter.

Taxis - can be hailed on the main road and run about 1500 colones to Manuel Antonio. Returning is usually cheaper.
